Schwinn Evolution Indoor Cycling Bike Reviewed

The Schwinn evolution indoor cycling bike is not the cheapest on the market.  It's not even what I would consider "middle-of-the-road".  It's an investment of over $1000 for an indoor cycling bike.  Is it worth it?  That's what we will discuss in this review.

I have purchased and used many different Schwinn exercise bikes over the years.  I have used recumbent models, upright models, the famous Airdyne and more.  In seven out of eight cases, I have found that the Schwinn name means that you will get something of quality and something more valuable than the price you pay.  Of course, there are always exceptions.  Would the evolution indoor cycling bike be one of those exceptions?

Not in my book.  I was surprised with the excellent workout that the Schwinn evolution gave me.  When I finished my workout and checked my statistics, I was surprised to see how many calories I burnt.  It didn't feel like I should have burn that many.  What I'm saying is that you can get a great workout without having to "feel the burn". And even if you do take it up a notch, you'll find that you're likely to get a better workout than you would on other cycling bikes.

I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of upright bikes.  I prefer recumbent bikes.  But as far as upright models go, this is one of the best I've used.  It is comfortable, doesn't feel awkward and is something that I can get used to.  Of course, I would expect nothing less when I'm paying over $1000 for a cycling bike.

Where this machine really shines is that it is constructed so well that I can't imagine how many hours it would take to wear this machine down.  This is a bike designed for serious exercise buffs.  If you're a casual exerciser, you could probably get by with something less.  But I would wager that this model lasts three to four times longer than models half the price.

In the past I've found that many models that offer so-called "complete seat and handlebar adjustments" just didn't deliver.  In other words, no matter how I adjust the sea I could never get it to where I wanted it.  With the Schwinn evolution, I find that I have complete control over where I place my seat and handlebars, making it easy to customize the machine so that it is completely comfortable.

In the end, I am very satisfied with the Schwinn evolution and I would recommend it to anyone who takes their fitness seriously.
