Schwinn 230 Recumbent Exercise Bike Reviewed

Most exercise bikes that have a price tag of $400 or less are not worth the purchase.  This is because most manufacturers that design these exercise bikes cut a lot of corners just to be able to offer a model at such a low price.  What happens is that the consumer mistakes cost for investment.  They save on upfront costs, but over the long term they end up spending more money replacing the exercise bike.

The Schwinn 230 exercise bike is the exception to the rule.  Coming in at just under $400, it is an excellent recumbent exercise bike, especially for the beginner.

Let's start with the problem that plagues most exercise bikes.  Most exercise bikes are simply not comfortable to use.  This is especially true with upright bikes.  This was one of the reasons why the Schwinn 230 recumbent exercise bike model was introduced into the market.

I don't know about you, but I want something that I actually enjoy using consistently, not something I have to force myself to use just so I can get the benefits of exercise.  I want to be able to receive the benefits of exercise while enjoying the process.  Did the Schwinn 230 deliver?

You bet it did.  While it is obvious at first touch that some of the parts are not the most expensive ones that can can be put onto an exercise bike, I wasn't expecting top quality for $400.  However, the parts that were used exceeded my expectations.  I have a feeling that this machine will last far beyond what most exercise bikes for this price last.

Additionally, the machine itself looks cool.  I know this might not be a big factor for some people, but for me it is.  I want something to place in my home that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb -- the Schwinn 230 exercise bike has a sleek design to it which actually enhances my home, not detract from it.

Finally, let's discuss my favorite thing about this bike -- when I use it, it doesn't make a sound.  Oftentimes I like to use exercise bikes while watching television.  Of course, sometimes it can be tedious if the exercise bike make noises which interfere with the audio from the television.  I don't have to worry about that anymore.

In conclusion, for its price tag, the Schwinn 230 is a hard model to beat, and excellent for the beginner to purchase if they are just getting into the world of home fitness equipment.
