Bowflex 7 Series Treadmill

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Reviewed

First it was the Bowflex Series 3 treadmill that captured my heart.  For under $1000, I had found an excellent entry-level treadmill that did everything I needed it to.  Then I was able to try out the Bowflex series 5 treadmill.  It had a price tag of $250, which unfortunately I felt wasn't justified, because I liked to series 3 better.  With that said, is the series 7 the best of all?  that's what we will attempt to answer in this review.

It's another $200 more than the series 5, bringing it to around $400 more than the series 3 treadmill offered by Bowflex.  Usually the majority of cost involved with building a treadmill has to do with its design and with its features.  While I didn't find many extra features on the Bowflex series 7 to write home about, I was extremely impressed by its build quality.

This bad boy is built to last.  Perhaps where you will end up saving money over the series 3 is the series 7 will simply outlast it, if everything else is equal.  It's extremely sturdy and it's comfortable to use -- 2 things that are rare in the world of treadmills for this price.

The downside is that there is a bit of assembly required with the Bowflex series 7 treadmill.  However, it's not that hard to do if you simply follow the instructions.  I had mine ready to go and running within an hour after it had arrived.  If that sounds like a long time, then you probably have never assembled a treadmill before.  There have been many treadmills which had taken me two hours or more to put together -- and I'm experienced at doing such things!

Bowflex series 7 decided to keep it simple.  They send you all the tools with the treadmill, and you only have to put in 30 screws into the machine before it is completely assembled.

The one main contention I have with the Bowflex series 7 treadmill is that its control panel is a little awkward to use at first.  I have used treadmills which have better control panels, but with a little bit of use to the controls will become intuitive and easier to use.

Compared to the series 3, the Bowflex series 7 is a bit harder to move around and store after you are finished using it.  That is because it is a bit bulkier and its wheels are awkwardly placed on the front of the treadmill instead of the back.
