Bowflex 5 Series Treadmill Reviewed
The Bowflex 5
Series is the middle child in their treadmill
series. While I
have yet to review the series 7, I have found the series 3 to
be an excellent treadmill. For the extra $250, is it
worth it to go with a 5 Series instead? That's what we will achieve
to answer in this review.
While I had
no problems dealing with the incline feature on the Bowflex
series 3, the 5 Series sometimes had
problems.
Keep in mind, this was nothing drastic, except that when
I would go to adjust the incline sometimes my machine
would just shut off.
Another gripe
I have with the Bowflex 5 Series treadmill is that it is a bit
bulkier than the series 3. It is not as easy to move
around or store either. And occasionally it would
make loud noises when using it. Again, this was something I
didn't find with the series 3.
To be fair,
maybe I got a model that is not an adequate representation of
the Bowflex 5 Series treadmill. The only reason I say that is
because I had no problem with using the Bowflex series
3. Other than some
of the minor issues are discussed above, the Bowflex 5 Series
delivered in every other aspect.
Again, it
passed my first test which is -- do I burn more calories with
this treadmill than with regular treadmills, without feeling
like I've put in more energy to burn those
calories?
The answer again is yes. How ever Bowflex does
it, they tend to always do it right when it comes to
optimizing workouts to burn the maximum amount of fat and
calories with the minimal amount of effort.
Another thing
I like about the Bowflex 5 Series is that it is built to
last. It is not
like some of the cheaper treadmills out there which are
manufactured so that they can sell for extremely low prices on
the market. And,
when it comes to treadmills, you usually get what you pay
for.
Besides,
Bowflex offers excellent financing anyway, so it does not
really pay to cut a few corners. You can finance the Bo flex 5
Series treadmill for as little as $20 a
month. And,
depending on where you order from, sometimes you can
qualify for free shipping so you say $200 or more just
and shipping costs!
In
conclusion, would I recommend the Bowflex 5 Series
treadmill? Against
most other treadmills, yes. But against its cheaper and
more enjoyable little brother, the Bowflex 3 Series, I would
give the nod to the Bowflex 3 Series Treadmill.
